Shop Black City Tour is excited to announce a partnership with the Wedge Building, the Wedge Market. Beginning February 20th, the Wedge Market is a weekly vendor fair for local Black-owned businesses to showcase their products, held Sundays from 4 to 8pm.
Greg and Tee Westbrook founded Shop Black City Tour in 2019, hosting vendor markets for over 600 Black-owned businesses not only in Nashville, but across the US.
The tour has been hugely successful, expanding its lineup from 6 cities in 2021 to 30 cities in its upcoming 2022 tour, and with the Wedge Market, the Westbrooks hope to channel that momentum and enthusiasm into Black-owned businesses in Nashville.
Black-owned small businesses were impacted disproportionately by the pandemic, suffering primarily from loss of revenue and temporary closures, as reported by the Small Business Trends Alliance and the House Small Business Committee. The Wedge Market is an opportunity to help those businesses rebound in 2022.
“During the pandemic, we helped hundreds of Black-owned small businesses generate over $300K in revenue in just one year, and we’re especially proud of that,” said Greg Westbrook. Tee Westbrook added, “Now we can create an even bigger impact with our weekly market.”
The Wedge Buildingis a local Black-owned 7000 sq. ft venue housing a coffee shop, an art gallery, co-working space and an indoor/outdoor event space called Lindell Hall, where the market will be held. The building is located in the hip and trendy Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood of Nashville, right off of I-65.
By partnering with the Wedge Building, the Wedge Market aims to provide a platform for Black-owned businesses to expand their clientele, grow, and build a foundation for continued success.
Join Shop Black City Tour and our 50 partnering Black-owned businesses at the inaugural Wedge Market on February 20th, 4-8pm at the Wedge Building.
The Shop Black City Tour begins March 19th in Miami, FL, and will be in Nashville on May 21st.
